Gays are now allowed to be openly gay in the US military. I’m sorry, I don’t care. Any feelings I might have of appreciating the societal normalization of queerness is offset by my anger at people who are just dying (get it? it’s a pun) to join the very instrument of repression that has been wielded against them historically and into the contemporary era. Like the pagans who join the military, who clearly didn’t pay any attention to that whole rule of three thing they claim.
Republicans controlled the government and started two wars and continued to ramp up neo-liberal and neo-conservative agendas. The democrats took control and they did what exactly? They made it so more people can join the military. Gratz. Bet you’re proud.
Lesbian women are blackmailed and raped because of DADT. Even the most anti-war radicals should care about a policy that creates such an environment.
People are being blackmailed and raped because the military is full of blackmailing rapists. Hired killers.
But maybe you’re right. I suppose there are reasons to be happy that DADT has passed and I ought not be so reactionary. But still, I don’t support the troops:

I don’t really disagree with your first statement and I don’t support the troops either, but at the same time, I recognize that lesbian baiting is a societal problem that is made much worse by DADT. here’s just one story: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/5/10/865272/-The-Dont-Ask,-Dont-Tell-Law-Let-Them-Rape-Me.
